As we move through our daily lives – whether we’re on the hectic commute to work, preparing for a busy day at home, looking for our next gig, or simply trying to take it slow in this fast-paced world – we’re constantly sending out and receiving all types of energy. In the midst of all the stress, negativity, and toxicity we encounter, attracting and accepting positive energy can help us live a more beautiful and productive life.

So if you’re looking to have some more of this positive energy, here are seven things you can do:

1. Begin your day with meditation

Allowing yourself to take a few minutes out of your morning to reflect and take a couple of deep breaths could help you shake off what was bothering you the day before. Refresh yourself, slowly take in the new day, and see all the difference that this simple act can make.

2. Let go of past grudges and anger

A good amount of the negative energy we have and attract might come from things or people that have made us angry in the past. Often times, this past anger is no longer productive or useful in our current life. Perhaps it’s time to consider letting them go — after all, forgiveness is critical in unlocking peace and positive energy within ourselves.

3. Don’t worry too much about the future

It’s nice to think about future goals and plans, but it can be easy for us to get lost in the visions of tomorrow that we lose sight of the good things happening to us in the present. Some things are beyond our control, so it’s okay to take it easy on yourself while you’re not where you want to be yet. Honor your process and your progress! Set your goals and trust that you’ll get there eventually.

4. Exercise regularly

Often, we don’t notice the pent-up physical stress that our bodies have accumulated and this greatly affects our mood. Regular exercise can help relieve some of that stress and boost our energy — especially with that post-exercise endorphin kick. So why not go for a run or do some yoga in your condo? Your body will thank you for it!

5. Be proud of yourself — take that compliment!

You may not notice it, but there’s already a lot of positive energy that goes around that usually gets ignored. Maybe somebody told you that they liked how your outfit, or congratulated you for a recent achievement. Reflect on these moments; did you take it in or did you ignore it? Often times, focusing on these positive moments can really do wonders. So go ahead and take those compliments — you deserve all the good vibes you’re getting!

6. Surround yourself with positive people and spaces

It’s good to come home to a supportive family and community that encourages and loves you. The same goes for the spaces and environments you build around yourself. If your house is a safe and positive space that you truly feel at home in, that can be all it takes to create the positive flow we all need. The energy we surround ourselves with has a great effect on us, so it’s important to find people and places who are good sources of it!

7. Try being a source of positive energy for others

One of the best ways to attract positive energy is to spread it! Try noticing something you really like about someone you run into and let them know, or enter a room with a smile. You’ll be amazed at how you yourself can transform the energy around you. It’s contagious!
Attracting positive energy really begins within, such as subtle changes in our lifestyle, the way we think, and the things we choose to surround ourselves with. Life can be tough at times and it can wear us down, but there are many opportunities for a more positive life that come our way. It’s up to you to see them and live the beautiful life you deserve.
